The proposed projects aims at developing capacities of the professors at Slovak Universities in the field of global education and inclusion of developmental topics in study programs at P. J. Šafárik University in Košice (Department of History and Department of Political Science) and University of Prešov (Department of Political Science). The specific objectives of the project are (i) to incorporate the development education into the study programs and teaching process at P. J. Šafárik University in Košice and the University of Prešov by menas of building internal capacities in this area, (ii) to increate the awareness of university students about the themes of development and global education, (iii) to increase the capacities of three specialized departments (the Department of Political Science and the Department of History at UPJŠ in Košice and the Department of Political Science at the University of Prešov) in the field of institutionalization of global education in the form of introducing new subjects, creating syllables and creating a global education course. The project will result in increased cooperation, space for networking and active communication among teachers (from UPJŠ in Košice, University of Prešov, Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra, and Comenius University in Bratislava) through exchange lectures on development themes. The interest and professional capacity of teachers in the field of development education will increase through academic internships. New contacts and cooperation with foreign academic institutions will be established.
