Description

ST.PHILIP NERI PRIMARY SCHOOL is a project co-founded and supported by the submitter. Educates elementary school students. Activities of the volunteer: 1. Educational project, teaching at a basic boarding school - The volunteer will participate in teaching as a teacher's assistant at the school of St. Filip Neri at the preschool level and at the lower level of elementary school and will be involved in subjects such as music education, art education and English language - The volunteer will help children with weaker academic performance after school, Leisure school activities for children, participate in Saturday leisure circles for children . 2, Social project - Supporting the education of children from a socially disadvantaged environment - administrative support of the project, marketing, sponsoring, etc., accompanying children with albinism or physical disabilities to doctors - recruitment of new children to the project - visits of children in the project with a local social worker. Education and consultation for local social workers and logisticians through the transfer of knowledge and skills. The activities will contribute to the creation of long-term partnerships between organizations and communities and the building of institutional relations between Slovak subjects. Activities will strengthen solidarity and provide innovative answers to emerging social problems. The project is aimed at supporting the building of local capacities, there are not enough experts and workers in the social field in the area, and the activities of a volunteer in cooperation with an expert will lead to the education of local experts. The volunteer will work in an international team and will participate in the dissemination of knowledge and experience. The aim is to promote dialogue between cultures, strengthen solidarity and understanding between peoples and long-term partnerships between organizations and communities in Kenya. The volunteer's stay will be part of the preparation for work in the field of development cooperation. Participation in a community program for adults focused on micro-business, promotion of Slovak development aid, post-return activities will also be an important part of the project, where the volunteer will present to the Slovak public his experiences from his stay in Nairobi and the SLOVAK-AID volunteer program and participate in global education. He will participate in increasing the awareness and support of the Slovak public in favor of development cooperation and humanitarian aid through the involvement of volunteers. Participation in the logistical support of the project. The project provides an ideal environment for volunteering and creates sufficient conditions for it. Volunteer activities will be carried out under the supervision of an experienced employee of the University of St. Elizabeth. The project provides space for several volunteers to work. The new volunteer will be able to follow up on the activities carried out by previous volunteers. The volunteer will participate in regular staff meetings of the project workers, where they will participate in the analysis of individual activities and propose possible improvements. The volunteer will carry out his activities in coordination with a social worker from Slovakia who works in Kenya. The volunteer will have the opportunity to meet with representatives of other non-governmental organizations in Kenya focused on social activities, where he will exchange experiences from individual activities. The main goal of the Slovak volunteer is to acquire theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the implementation of specific project activities in a developing country. An important aspect is also that the volunteer will work in a multi-cultural space. The volunteer will update photos and information about the children and the project, which will be used in the promotion of Slovak development aid.
