Description

The project is aimed at promoting the sustainable forest management. The project activities are directly linked to the improving hunting management, which will contribute to the improvement of forest management in Serbia. This mainly involves the preparation of the Analysis of the current state of hunting management in Serbia and the development of a Methodology for the detection of game occurrence and potential damage to the forests. The obtained information, together with the experience gained from the implementation of study tours in Slovakia and Serbia and training activities, will able an effective transfer of knowledge towards the target groups (forestry and hunting staff: 68 participants). The Serbian project partners will subsequently apply the project outputs in the methodological guidance and management of forestry and hunting in Serbia. The project will also prepare a proposal for a database architecture for wild game monitoring, which can form the basis for the development of a hunting information system in Serbia. In this way, the implementation of the project will also contribute to the fulfilment of the objectives of the Joint Commission for Economic Cooperation between the Slovakia and Serbia. The proposed project activities have a positive impact on gender equality. The forestry and hunting sector is completely dominated by men and therefore the participating of Serbian experts in the study tours is aimed at ensuring that the share of women is at least 25 % and that the share of trained women reaches more than 40 %.
