The main objective is to promote socio - economic status of disadvantaged communities, with particular emphasis on women's involvement.
Throughout the agricultural education in animal husbandry (sheep and bee keeping) the project seeks to reduce poverty and strengthen the socio - economic development of disadvantaged families in Noarallam and Shinaki communities by improving their agricultural skills and knowledge. The project aims to increase income from agricultural activities and improve the food security in rural population.
The project is paying increased attention to women, since they are disadvantaged in Afghan society. Through project activities, the women will become directly involved in generating household income, which in itself enhances their status. In addition, during the duration of the project, workshops are scheduled and designed to raise awareness about the importance of gender equality and women's participation in the overall life of the community.
The proposed project will be implemented over a period of 24 months in cooperation with a local partner. The project will be implemented in villages Shinaki and Noarallam ,in Istalif district, Kabul province.
In total, 116 women and 50 men from the local communities will be directly involved in the project activities. Through the multiplier effect of the training activities, community involvement in the advocacy workshops and increased household income from animal husbandry activities, the project will have a positive impact on approximately 1,000 indirect beneficiaries when it comes to animal husbandry and 6000 in gender awareness.
