Description

The topic of the SSR is up-to-date in Moldova in terms of the presence of a frozen Transnistrian conflict, and hybrid threats are also coming to the fore in connection with the polarization of society and the political spectrum in the sense of pro-European and Pro-Russian orientation. Moldova is a neutral country without aspiring to join NATO, but with a strong effort to integrate with the EU. This situation makes the country particularly vulnerable in terms of new security threats such as hybrid warfare (dissemination of propaganda and misinformation) and the issue of cyber-security. The country has suffered a high level of corruption for a long time, and the reform of the judiciary has not yet been very successful. The implementation of the reforms follows, in particular, from the implementation of the Association Agreement with the EU, which has been running since September 2014.
