The partner organization SEED is dedicated to improving the living conditions of the most vulnerable groups in Lebanon through education of children and youth, psychosocial support, basic food aid and the reconstruction of the homes of vulnerable refugee and Lebanese communities. Its center of operation is Tripoli, where it has its headquarters and educational center. During 2020, SEED also expanded its activities to provide assistance in the explosion-affected Beirut. SEED's activities in Beirut focus on providing basic food aid, hygiene and protection aids, and small repairs to destroyed homes. The organization is established locally in the education sector in Tripoli, but due to growing needs and a shift towards covering the most basic needs, SEED is working with People in Need Lebanon, the local branch of People in Need Slovakia, to expand its operations in Lebanon and advocate for greater continuity in education, support for employment and small businesses, and meeting of basic human needs. An expert volunteer is needed to build the capacity of SEED and People in Need Lebanon in their joint efforts to strengthen their presence in Beirut and to provide targeted and effective assistance in selected sectors. The expert - volunteer will focus on the following activities: Support for the development of the organization and its professionalization in knowledge management, processing and storage of information. Support of the partner organization in data evaluation, monitoring and evaluation of activities. Collaborate with the management team to provide in-depth needs assessments of local communities in Beirut and Tripoli and plan future interventions. Support for development of feedback mechanisms and improving the quality of assistance provided. Support for capacity building of the host organization in project management, fulfillment of the project cycle. Support the organization in the preparation of strategic plans and obtaining new funding opportunities. Linking the coordination of the organisation's activities with other actors operating in Lebanon by participating in UN and international coordination meetings. Promoting the visibility of the organization and building awareness of its activities. Raising awareness of SlovakAid and Slovak development and humanitarian aid and informing the Slovak public about the work of an expert - volunteer in Lebanon.
