Description
The project focuses on the development of a new, comprehensive ecotourism product. The Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti region has huge potential for ecotourism, especially in the Tvishi and Khvanchkara micro-zones, as they represent the place of origin of authentic Georgian wine with a very limited area. The region is characterized as economically underdeveloped with a high rate of migration, especially among young people. The project aims to support the strengthening of the economic resilience of the population, the retention of young people in these micro-zones with the development of unique and comprehensive tourist products. The project activities are focused on the involvement of all stakeholders and at the end of the project, local authorities, tourist information centers and the civic sector will gain usable knowledge and tools. To achieve this result, project experts will develop guidelines for route planning and internal standards with recommendations on how to plan, design, build, monitor and maintain them. The document will be recognized at national level and compliance with these standards will encourage the re-use of project results in other zones / regions. One of the goals of the project, which is to develop an architectural plan for the organization of ecotourism nature trails, GNTA will be able to plan and set up others, as well as manage them together with local governments.Gender equality is guaranteed in the project. The aim is to involve both men and women. The results of the project do not have a negative impact on the environment. On the contrary, the project is based on the uniqueness of nature, its ecology and the use of available potential in a harmless way.
