The project Transfer of forestry knowledge and raising awareness of the natural resources sustainable use is based on cooperation between the National Forestry Centre and partner organizations from Moldova - State Forestry Agency MoldSilva of the Republic of Moldova and the Association of Women in Forestry of the Republic of Moldova. The aim of the project is to transfer knowledge from the field of afforestation, inventory and forests´s monitoring and increase awareness of the sustainable use of forests through environmental education, training, edification in the form of forest pedagogy activities. Forest pedagogy as a part of environmental education is used by Slovak foresters in active communication with the public and presentation of forestry issues. Project activities include analysis of the state of sustainable use of resources and environmental protection, information campaigns (Forestry Days) and professional excursions, professional educational seminars, creation of methodological material and worksheets for schools, the establishment of a School Educational Forestry Center on the territory of the Republic of Moldova. The target group includes forestry staff from the Republic of Moldova (including forest guards in Orhei National Park) and science subjects´s teachers in Moldova, as well as students from 15 schools, journalists and the general public. The place of implementation of the project is the Orhei National Park (4 districts - Orhei, Straseni, Calarasi and Criuleni) and 15 schools in the area. Activities implemented in Slovakia will take place in Zvolen and its surroundings. The project will contribute to increasing the expertise of foresters in afforestation, inventory and monitoring, forestry staff will also acquire pedagogical skills, Moldovan partners will take over the model of Forestry Days event and the establishment of an educational center on sustainable use of natural resources, especially forests´s use. Participation in all activities is without gender restrictions, increased preconditions for women's participation in the project are guaranteed by the project partner Association of Women in Forestry of the Republic of Moldova.
