Description
To improve the environment when thousands of refugees pass through the territory of Moldova, the supply of plastic bins for waste at border crossings and refugee concentration sites is efficient solution to prevent black dumps, plastic waste and microplastics. Although the partner's headquarters are in the capital Chisinau, the implementation will extend to other regions up to the level of local governments. It will have an impact especially on the poorest and most lagging areas of the country in terms of waste management development. Main project activities: 1. Immediate assistance in border areas for plastic waste management 2. Long-term solution of the problem: - analysis of the current state of use of plastic products and alternatives to them, as well as compliance with related legislation by the private sector - drawing up a list of technologies, capacities and current practices in the collection and treatment of plastic waste at national level, including the informal sector - developing a set of recommendations to improve the institutional and legal framework for plastic waste management - improving the registration, reporting and analysis of data on packaging (in the system of extended producer responsibility) and packaging waste by preparing and conducting training for state administration bodies in the environment and entrepreneurs 3.
