The RINSE project will provide 30,000 individuals (estimated 8,700 men, 8,700 women, 6,300 boys, and 6,300 girls) with access to urgent WASH assistance in highly vulnerable underserved communities in the governorates of Lattakia. The project aims at increasing access to water for, women, men, boys and girls, as well as persons with disabilities and the elderly, affected by the crisis and the earthquake. The WASH activity will include the rehabilitation of boreholes / water networks / elevated water tanks / pumping stations in Lattakia, targeting the most vulnerable communities. The provision of solar systems for boreholes or pumping stations will be considered if needed, to improve the number of hours water is pumped into the system to improve access to water and positively impact the lives of the affected population. During the project's life, ADRA will ensure close coordination with the local communities and other stakeholders (including governorates, other humanitarian organizations, and the WASH sector) to prevent duplication of activities.
