Description

The aim of the project is to promote environmentally sustainable agriculture and food production in Moldova, which creates jobs and increases energy and food self-sufficiency. This will be achieved by establishing a total of 6 models in different regions of Moldova as development hubs that promote environmental sustainability and create added value in the agricultural and food sector. In these hubs, new jobs will be created by supporting their development, min. 36, of which 80% will be women, 30% young people under 29, 5% people with special health needs. The creation of models will be supported by raising awareness through campaigns reaching out to 100,000 people with increased environmental awareness on responsible consumption and production in the agro-food sector. The economic growth of partner organisations, as the core of each hub, will be supported by investments in technologies and equipment that demonstrate environmentally and climate resilient solutions for farming and agri-food enterprises, as well as investments in shared infrastructure and technologies. Around these nuclei, the creation of production and distribution networks bringing together farmers and agri-food producers will be supported, mainly aimed at promoting the sale of agricultural crops and products, but also supporting the purchase/sale of crops or the exchange of experiences and cooperation Capacity building of farmers and agri-food enterprises through trainings and workshops (50 in total), the provision of ongoing coaching and the creation of online training materials for further dissemination will also be part of the support. Dissemination of results and strengthening of sustainability as well as awareness building on responsible consumption and production in the agro-food sector will be ensured through the implementation of 5 campaigns targeting different levels and target groups. The project reflects to the specific needs of women in the agri-food sector of Moldova and thus contributes to the elimination of inequalities in their status.
