Description
In line with objectives listed in the call for proposals, the main output of the project is to design a business plan examining a possibility of creating a mobility scheme for Uzbek IT students, graduates, experts and IT professionals. The project builds on activities of ITAS and Digital Coalition which in cooperation with KHNUE Kharkiv and VŠEMvs Bratislava created a joint study programme for Ukrainian IT students. The project is supported by Slovak companies who offer students monthly scholarships (650 EUR/14 months) and mentoring during their internships, followed by employment contracts for the period of two years during which the original investment of the company (3000 – 5000 EUR) is returned. In cooperation with abovementioned partners, the European Migration Agency is implementing a project co-financed by SlovakAid which complements the scheme with public universities. In line with the principles of circular migration, the scheme uses an innovative system of knowledge transfer encompassing the completion of a master study programme, mentored internship and employment in established companies and ultimately a return to Uzbekistan. If the results of the negotiations in Uzbekistan and conclusions of the business plan support the extension of the scheme to Uzbekistan, ITAS will start developing a proposal for a similar mobility scheme based on joint study programmes between Uzbek and Slovak universities and subsequent employment of graduates in Slovak companies. In addition to quality education, participating students will gain experience working in established businesses, acquiring skills that will help them in their career development upon return to Uzbekistan.
